To improve the quality of care, and treatment outcomes for persons suffering with addiction, mental health, and co-occurring disorders.

We believe all individuals, their families and significant others suffering with these disorders have the right to receive evidence based treatment, and know before entering treatment what a service provider’s outcomes have been.

Our goal is improve individual and organizational performance regarding the assessment and treatment of persons with substance abuse, mental health and co-occurring disorders.

What We Do


Provide customized, evidenced based, blended learning solutions, technical assistance, consultation and professional support services designed to assist behavioral health care, criminal justice and faith based organizations successfully implement and maintain the use of evidence based assessment and treatment practices, interventions and innovations designed to improve individual and organizational performance regarding the assessment and treatment of persons with substance abuse, mental health and co-occurring disorders.

 

History


Since 1993, Thomas H. Coyne Ed.D., LCSW, and colleagues has been involved in the development, dissemination, and implementation of evidence based assessment and treatment practices (e.g., NIDA Technology Transfer Packages, NIDA Technology Transfer Videos, Recovery Training and Self Help (RTSH), Cue Extinction, Contingency Management, Addiction Severity Index, SAMHSA TIPS & TAPs, Stages of Change, HIV Risk and Reduction Practices, Buprenorphine, and the ASAM criteria. Their services are designed to improve individual and organizational performance regarding the treatment of persons with substance abuse, mental health, HIV, and co-occurring disorders.

 

Dr. Coyne and his colleagues are among the most experienced and effective adult educators in the country regarding the correct administration and application of the Addiction Severity Index ASI, the Comprehensive Adolescent Severity Inventory (CASI), the American Society of Addiction Medicine Criteria, the National Institute on Drug Abuse’s (NIDA) Technology Transfer Package (TTP) on Relapse Prevention e.g., Recovery training and Self Help, and Cue Extinction, and many other topics.

Dr. A.Thomas McLellan, developer of the ASI considers Dr. Coyne to be the “Best Trainer in the country on the administration and application of the ASI”. Dr. Coyne was also part of the original training team approved by NIDA to disseminate the NIDA Technology Transfer Package on Relapse Prevention – and the only member of that team who continues to disseminate the NIDA package and provide training on the two proven and effective relapse prevention approaches.
